Anchorage Waypoint:- 10° 46.144S; 152° 22.869E
This is a very still anchorage in good holding sand. It is a short dinghy ride around to the south side to Nivani Island. If coming from Alotau it is possible to go through West Passage and anchor at this anchorage safely at night.

A brief update for the web page. The customs at Jomard (Pana Pom Pom Island) will no longer clear yachts into or out of PNG. They will have to clear at either Samarai or Alotau. Information given to me today (17/5/10) by the customs at Jomard.
Regarding trading goods — as the beech-de-mere season is in the first of a three year closure the people here are very short of money. Although they will still trade for T-shirts and other clothing, etc, there is a big demand for basics such as rice, sugar, flour, tea, soap, etc. Many of the children are not going to school now as their parents can’t afford the school fees.

Hello
Enjoyed some of your photos. My mother lives on Panapompom Island and has built a 2 bedroom house right on top of the hill with magnificent views and which you can see as you are coming into shore
She gets a few requests from boaties coming in requesting to stay at the house. Do you have more photos?
cheers
Hello , I am absalutely taken away by the photos. I think Panapompom is by far the most beautiful . My family lives on the south coast , next to Nivani. an absolute paradise.
